Munich’s ARX Robotics Reveals Combat-Ready UGV Designed with Ukrainian Frontline Insights

ARX Robotics, a European defense-technology company focused on autonomous military vehicles, has launched Combat Gereon, its first combat-capable unmanned ground vehicle (UGV). This system is aimed at enhancing soldier survivability in high-risk areas by taking on dangerous frontline tasks.

Developed, tested, and refined through a collaborative European-Ukrainian campaign, Combat Gereon involved continuous feedback from Ukrainian users. ARX collaborated with Valhalla for weapon system integration, aligning with certification and fielding needs of European armed forces. This ensures quick adaptation to battlefield conditions while adhering to European standards.

The unveiling of Combat Gereon is set for DSEI UK 2025 in London (9–12 September). It will be demonstrated with Valhalla Turrets’ LOKI remote-controlled weapon station, showcasing modular payload integration and interoperability within ARX’s Mithra OS-enabled ground fleet.

“Combat Gereon represents the next step in our mission to protect soldiers and enhance Europe’s defense resilience,” said Marc Wietfeld, co-founder and CEO of ARX Robotics. “The system extends the reach of our autonomous platform into the combat-capable domain while staying true to our core focus: increasing survivability at the front line and enabling European forces to operate with greater effectiveness and lower risk.”

Designed for missions with low personnel survivability, such as reconnaissance, route clearance, and forward observation in contested zones, the UGV supports remote operation and lessens operator workload. ARX claims Combat Gereon enables forces to operate at greater distances without direct exposure.

Scalable production across European and Ukrainian sites and modular payloads allow configurations for various environments and upgrades against evolving threats. With autonomous navigation, flexible weaponry, and fleet-level coordination, Combat Gereon expands ARX’s range from support and logistics autonomy to combat-capable systems.
