Mobena is a remote-first startup with a team of three, focused on developing advanced multi-generational tax and estate planning software for advisors of the wealthiest families in America. We’re seeking our first dedicated UI Engineer to take charge of the frontend development for our main product, Mobena Evolution, which currently has minimal frontend code. You’ll collaborate with our backend/algorithm-focused CTO and our designer-founder to transform Figma concepts into efficient, maintainable, and scalable user interfaces.
What You’ll Do
– Select and justify the frameworks and tools that align with our needs.
– We have some prototype code in Vite JS, which you can choose to use or discard; all our Figma designs are new.
– Our backend operates on a standard HTTP API. We’re open to a range of solutions, from established web stacks (React, Angular, Svelte, Vite) to cross-platform or native options (Qt, WASM, .NET MAUI, Tauri, Electron, Tk)—anything, if you can persuade us it’s the right fit.
– Develop our UI from scratch, setting up clear, maintainable patterns for components, state management, styling, testing, performance, and accessibility.
– Work together to refine and occasionally reframe screen designs in Figma.
– Connect the frontend to our APIs (REST, GraphQL, or similar).
– Prepare for future mobile clients; although experience here is a bonus, it’s not mandatory.

– You have experience shipping an interactive application—whether web, desktop, or mobile—through coursework, open source, side projects, or professional work.
