Loft Dynamics Secures $24M Series B to Transform Pilot Training with VR Simulators

Swiss VR flight training company Loft Dynamics has secured $24 million in Series B funding, led by Friedkin, with participation from Alaska Airlines, and existing investors Sky Dayton, Craft Ventures, and UP.Partners. This round boosts Loft Dynamics’ total funding to $60 million, enabling expansion into commercial airline training while enhancing its helicopter training solutions.

Loft Dynamics is known for its FAA- and EASA-qualified VR helicopter simulator, used by Airbus Helicopters, the Los Angeles Police Department, and Air Greenland. The new funding will help the company leverage its technology to revolutionize airline pilot training.

“Pilot training methods are outdated,” stated Fabi Riesen, founder and CEO of Loft Dynamics. “Current systems are expensive and inefficient, which is unsustainable with pilot shortages and increased air mobility. We’re creating a more realistic, accessible standard that ensures high-quality training and safer skies.”

The company’s immediate focus is on developing an integrated system for safer, more effective, and scalable pilot training. New offerings will include existing helicopter simulators and new Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 VR airliner simulators, which are more compact and cost-effective compared to traditional simulators.

Loft Dynamics’ airliner simulators will feature a multi-crew cockpit, aircraft haptics, and advanced training intelligence to assess performance and provide personalized feedback. The simulators will also offer LofTWIN, a mode for recording and replaying immersive lessons. Pilots will train for various conditions, including high-risk scenarios.

To make training more accessible, Loft Dynamics is also working on a home training kit using spatial computing, enabling pilots to train remotely.

Dan Friedkin, chairman and CEO of Friedkin, will join Loft Dynamics’ board. Series A investors Sky Dayton and Ben Marcus also serve on the board. “Loft Dynamics is pioneering the next era of aviation training,” said Friedkin. “This investment accelerates global scaling, innovation, and pilot safety.”

Pasha Saleh of Alaska Airlines added, “Through Alaska Star Ventures, we’re eager to support Loft Dynamics in introducing FAA-qualified VR technology to commercial airline training. This investment will enhance our training programs and drive future solutions in the aviation industry.”
