Position Details:

The Lead Full Stack Engineer is an expert full stack engineer leading product development for a software platform that offers evidence-based tools for scientific research and improved health outcomes. The application is crafted using React, React Native, Python, leverages Postgres, and is hosted on AWS. The system architecture emphasizes its web and mobile clients, and familiarity with these technologies and their ecosystems is essential.

Reporting to the Engineering Director, this is a full-time, exempt role. Candidates within commuting distance are required to work on-site at least four days weekly. Remote work may be possible for those outside commuting range.

Responsibilities:

– Design, implement, and enhance features across front-end and back-end systems for MindLogger, CMI’s software platform
– Collaborate with product, design, and the Engineering Director on feature refinement, effort estimation, and feasibility assessment
– Develop and execute a technical strategy for the product
– Recommend and apply development best practices
– Propose and lead technical improvements within the application
– Mentor other engineers
– Conduct technical interviews for engineering candidates
– Engage in agile ceremonies such as standups, planning, refinement, and retrospectives

Requirements:

– 10 years in web or mobile application development, with at least 3 years in a lead role
– 3+ years in relevant domain areas with technologies used; reasonable substitutions accepted (e.g., Ruby/Node for Python, Django/Express/Rails for FastAPI)

– Mobile Frontend / Typescript & React Native
– Web Frontend / Typescript & React
– Backend API development / Python & FastAPI
– Infrastructure Automation / Terraform & AWS
– CI/CD Automation / Jenkins & Github Actions

– Expertise in cloud-based development
– Proficiency in Linux-like environments
– Proficiency with a modern distributed version control system (we use Git)

Pay Range

Remote compensation: $147,457.10 – $164,918.70
NYC Metro Area compensation: $155,218 – $194,022

The salary range is posted, influenced by factors like work experience, education, skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations. This salary may also include geographic adjustments if working outside of the specified location.
