American AI startup Landbase has acquired its second Canadian AI company this year. Landbase, based in San Francisco but founded in Canada, offers AI go-to-market software for B2B companies to identify and engage prospective clients.
Landbase announced it acquired Vancouver-based AI startup Adauris in June, which helps turn written content into audio for lead generation. Neither company disclosed the acquisition cost. The Adauris team and technology were included in the deal, finalized around the time Landbase closed a $30-million USD Series A funding round.
The acquisition of Adauris, financed through a mix of cash and Landbase equity, follows Landbase’s purchase of Toronto AI startup LavaReach months earlier, marking its third acquisition overall.
Daniel Saks, co-founder and CEO of Landbase, believes Adauris will enhance their inbound marketing, utilizing agentic AI for handling user requests. “The Adauris team brings the technical depth and GTM insight to supercharge our inbound roadmap,” he said.
Saks told BetaKit that Adauris’ expertise will expedite their inbound product development, with new features launching months sooner than planned, including LinkedIn integration for buyer-intent signals.
The Adauris team, including co-founders CEO Logan Underwood, COO Tina Haertel, and CTO Griffin Cook, have joined Landbase in roles such as head of partnerships and director of product, integrating into hubs in California and Toronto.
Underwood noted the cultural fit and shared vision with Landbase, which had previously partnered with Adauris earlier this year.
Adauris, founded in 2021, had raised $1.5 million USD ($2 million CAD) from investors like Antler and Morgan Stanley. They achieved early success by generating over 10 million monthly impressions and finding over 45,000 prospects daily for B2B brands.
Despite being based in the U.S., Landbase maintains Canadian roots with a presence in Toronto. Saks, a Canadian entrepreneur, co-founded AppDirect with Nicolas Desmarais. Landbase’s investors include Inovia and the Desmarais family.
Since launching last September with $12.5 million USD seed funding, Landbase has been active, acquiring LavaReach in February and Adauris two months ago alongside closing a $30-million Series A round led by Sound Ventures and others.
Saks stated Landbase plans to continue acquiring tech and teams that enhance its GTM-1 Omni AI model for targeted channels, data signals, and automation.
