Google Search is rolling out its AI Mode globally to 180 countries, available in English, expanding beyond the U.S., UK, and India.
AI Mode, part of Google Search, utilizes the Gemini AI model to provide answers rather than links. Google is enhancing AI Mode with agentic features and personalized responses.
AI Mode gets personal, and global
With AI Mode now accessible in more countries, it appears as a new tab in Google Search. By default, it doesn’t appear for every search. If Google detects a question fit for Gemini, it suggests “Dive Deeper in AI Mode” at the end of search results, directing you to AI Mode.
Though you can’t disable the AI Mode tab, you can bypass it using a special URL or extensions.
AI Mode personalization starts in the U.S. for those in the “AI Mode experiment” in Labs. Focusing on dining questions, it can suggest lunch spots based on past interactions, Search, and Maps data. The Share feature lets users share AI Mode results and collaborate.
