From Restless Nights to Better Sleep: 10 European Startups Revolutionizing Rest, Recovery, and Recharging

A good night’s sleep is considered fundamental for health, performance, and mental clarity. However, sleep habits across Europe vary due to cultural, lifestyle, and environmental influences. In Northern regions, people generally go to bed earlier and sleep more effectively, while Southern areas typically experience shorter sleep and later bedtimes. These variations illustrate the complexity of sleep challenges and the struggle many face to achieve adequate rest.

Insomnia, restless nights, and poor sleep quality are increasingly concerning, affecting mood, productivity, and long-term health risks. As awareness of sleep’s importance rises, technology and science intervene by precisely tracking sleep cycles and creating relaxation and recovery tools.

Here, we present 10 startups established since 2021, introducing innovative technologies to improve sleep patterns by promoting awareness of beneficial routines and habits.

**[eaze](https://www.eaze.de/):** This Berlin-based startup offers holistic digital sleep solutions utilizing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and personalized coaching. Users begin with a sleep assessment, then follow a personalized program of science-based exercises with expert support through chat, calls, or voice messages. The app features sleep tracking, weekly meditations, and feedback loops to encourage lasting improvements—an alternative to melatonin and sleeping pills focused on behavior change and habits, supported by app-based coaching.

Having combined psychology, data-driven insights, and digital delivery, this startup, founded in 2022, raised €1.7 million to offer a more sustainable alternative to sleep medications.

**[Hapni](https://hapni.fr/):** Located in Paris, Hapni is an online medical platform for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of sleep apnea via digital pathways, including online screening, at-home monitoring, and expert analysis. Users start with a free online questionnaire, followed by borrowing a diagnostic device for at-home sleep study. Data is reviewed by a specialist, who provides treatment guidance if apnea is detected.

Launched in 2022, Hapni addresses common sleep issues, such as apnea and snoring, securing €2 million to enhance diagnostic technology.

**[Moonoa](https://www.moonoa.fr/):** Founded in 2021 in Barcelona, Moonoa’s platform supports better sleep with a digital program grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). After assessing sleep patterns and goals, users receive a personalized app-based plan with daily readings, habit-building exercises, and relaxation practices like meditations and ASMR. Sleep coaches offer feedback and recommendations.

Moonoa secured €1.4 million, demonstrating confidence in science-based sleep solutions and demand for non-pharmaceutical insomnia approaches.

**[Mosanna Therapeutics](https://mosanna.com/):** With operations in California and Basel, Mosanna Therapeutics develops treatment for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) using a nasal spray therapy, aiming to restore airway function at the source rather than managing symptoms with devices like CPAP machines. The spray targets the underlying neurological and muscular causes of OSA.

Mosanna raised €68.5 million, supporting clinical trials and development of an effective, patient-friendly alternative for those with sleep apnea.

**[Oneleaf](https://www.oneleafhealth.com/):** Established in 2022 in Paris, Oneleaf empowers individuals with neuroscience applications for sleep, stress, weight, and confidence through a self-hypnosis audio program. Sessions guide users into a relaxed state for better sleep, reporting an average 12-minute time to drift off.

Oneleaf raised €4 million to make health transformation accessible through therapeutic audio programs developed with scientists and therapists.

**[Pasithea](https://pasithea.health/):** Based in Amsterdam, Pasithea is developing a non-invasive neuromodulation device for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), using kinesthetic neurostimulation to counteract apnea without CPAP machines, promoting normal breathing without discomfort.

Clinical trials backed by universities confirm effectiveness since its 2023 founding, with €100k funding for further research.

**[Pulsetto](https://eu.pulsetto.tech/es-es?pb=0):** This Vilnius-based wellness startup created a wearable vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) device promoting relaxation and better sleep. Delivering electrical pulses to the vagus nerve helps shift from alertness to calm, reducing stress for easier sleep.

Founded in 2021, Pulsetto raised €2 million to expand its drug-free stress reduction and sleep improvement approach.

**[Seluna](https://seluna.co.uk/the-team/):** Based in Glasgow, Seluna develops software to assist doctors in diagnosing and prioritizing treatment for children’s sleep disorders. Focusing on sleep apnea, Seluna’s technology aims to improve diagnostic accuracy and treatment planning in pediatric healthcare.
