CoreVitals Aims at the Next Frontier in Preventative Health

In a crucial time for consumer-driven health, there’s a growing desire for personalized care, data-driven insights, and a heightened focus on longevity and preventative health, influenced by scientific progress and evolving consumer priorities. People are taking charge of their well-being, often bypassing traditional public healthcare channels.

CoreVitals, a health tech startup based in London, is reshaping proactive healthcare through deep diagnostics and personalized insights. It analyzes over 100 blood biomarkers across cardiovascular, liver, kidney, hormone, nutritional, immune, and metabolic health, providing expert interpretation and digital delivery to enhance longevity, energy, and performance.

Speaking with Millie O’Brien, Head of Growth at CoreVitals, provided more insights. The startup aims to make functional medicine-level care accessible and actionable, intending to empower one million people to actively manage their long-term health by 2030.

Founded by two visionaries, Adil Mohammed, and Dr. Nitin Shori, CoreVitals is making strides in health tech innovation. In February 2024, they launched GetScanned, a platform competing with Scan.com in the UK, followed by the Premium subscription service Elevate launched in January. With strong consumer interest, Corevitals was introduced, focusing on tracking blood biomarkers at an accessible price point.

CoreVitals challenges the single blood test model prevalent in the UK. “People often choose tests based on past biases, risking missing current issues,” said O’Brien. Their GP-designed panel covers comprehensive health aspects, including early cancer detection and hormonal health.

Members receive two detailed blood tests yearly, starting with an extensive body systems overview, followed by a second test to monitor key markers that change frequently. CoreVitals is developing functionality in its next product version for more frequent and optional tests, especially for specific conditions.

With the NHS bottlenecks in mind, CoreVitals partners with a trusted UK lab to ensure foundational credibility. “The NHS process is already complex and expensive,” commented O’Brien.

Adopting a direct-to-consumer (D2C) model allows early insights and product iteration. A B2B2C offering is planned for functional medicine professionals, nutritionists, fertility experts, and GPs needing real-time results.

Preventative healthtech innovations are spreading, backed by increasing startup activity and investor interest, as seen with Vivian Lab, Solence, and Kois Care. Swiss companies Neko Health and Aeon have also made significant funding strides in preventative health scanning.

According to O’Brien, “CoreVitals offers a long-term health relationship with actionable, personalized tests, supported by a robust clinical team and advisory board.”

CoreVitals also aims to be inclusive, acknowledging the underrepresentation of women and minorities in medical research. The platform provides access to uncommon diagnostics, including detailed lipid profiles, comprehensive inflammation testing, and extensive hormone panels.

Amid strong initial interest, the platform is under testing by a small group, with messaging and education being key challenges. Messaging focuses on specific conditions to help consumers understand practical benefits.

To validate the platform’s insights, a GP manually reviews results for early users while the company explores integrating large public datasets for broader insights. As CoreVitals scales, it aspires to bridge advanced testing with everyday healthcare, making personalized, data-driven health management widely accessible.
