London-based Archestra has secured a $3.3 million Pre-Seed round to develop an open-source platform enabling employees to securely connect generative AI tools with internal systems and company data. The funding round, completed in less than two weeks, was led by Concept Ventures, with contributions from Zero Prime Ventures, Celero Ventures, RTP Global, Aloniq, and notable angel investors such as Max Hauser (BCG Managing Director & Partner), Maxim Konovalov (Nginx co-founder), and Stephen Whitworth (CEO of incident.io).
Founded by entrepreneurs Matvey Kukuy and Ildar Iskhakov, Archestra operates at the convergence of enterprise AI and data integration. The company aims to address a significant challenge for enterprises utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs): safely integrating them with sensitive company data. AI agents that connect to internal tools like Slack, email, CRMs, or HR platforms can significantly boost productivity by tasks like drafting emails, automating processes, and retrieving documents. However, these benefits come with potential risks if not properly managed.
Archestra’s platform, which incorporates permissioning, data management, and compliance tools, seeks to facilitate safe AI adoption for large organizations. The company warns that AI agents with unrestricted system access could inadvertently leak sensitive information or delete crucial data.
To counter this, Archestra has designed a security-oriented orchestrator for the Model Context Protocol (MCP), a framework developed by AI firm Anthropic in late 2024. MCP allows LLMs to perform actions across enterprise systems with greater context-awareness. CEO Matvey Kukuy emphasizes that while MCP offers new opportunities for AI agents, it currently lacks suitability for enterprise use. Archestra’s platform is intended to provide a secure method for integrating AI agents into workflows, which anyone from engineers to HR representatives can employ safely and effectively.
Ariel Rahamim, Principal at Concept Ventures, likens MCPs to APIs, suggesting they are becoming foundational components for enhancing AI tools within enterprises. Archestra is focused on building the essential infrastructure for this ecosystem.
While major tech companies like Microsoft, Google, and OpenAI are expanding generative AI adoption within enterprises, concerns about trust and safety persist as barriers. Archestra’s early emphasis on security, openness, and interoperability positions it as a potential key player in safely leveraging autonomous AI agents across industries.
