Apple has assembled a new team to create an app similar to ChatGPT, as reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
This team, called Answers, Knowledge, and Information, aims to develop an “answer engine” that uses web information to respond to questions. This could either be a standalone app or enhance search functions in Siri, Safari, and other Apple services.
Gurman mentions that Apple is hiring for positions within this team, seeking candidates experienced in search algorithms and engine development.
Although Apple has already incorporated ChatGPT into Siri, a more tailored, AI-enhanced update to the voice assistant has faced multiple delays. Apple may also need to adjust its search agreement with Google following Google’s antitrust loss.
