Visma Expands in DACH Region with AI-Driven Acquisitions of milia.io and Taxy.io

Today, Visma enhances its services for accountants and tax advisors in the DACH region by acquiring milia.io and Taxy.io. This adds up to ten acquisitions by Visma this year and over 350 in total.

milia.io provides an AI-driven platform for accounting offices that enhances client collaboration and automates internal workflows. The platform covers end-to-end processes, improving client communication and collaboration, and integrates with leading accounting systems.

Taxy.io is a pioneer in AI use for tax advisory, utilized by over 1,500 tax firms and departments in Germany. Its AI tax assistant improves response efficiency to complex inquiries and recently became the first digital assistant to pass the official tax advisor exam.

milia.io, co-founded by Tilman Walch and Michel Menk in 2021, joins Visma to further its vision in AI-driven automation for tax and accounting firms, boosting growth opportunities.

Taxy.io, a spin-off from RWTH Aachen University, was co-founded by Daniel Kirch, Sven Peper, and Steffen Kirchhoff in 2018. Peper and Kirch will continue as co-CEOs, with Kirchhoff as CTO.

Daniel Kirch of Taxy.io states their mission to help tackle regulatory burdens. After scaling in Germany and assisting numerous professionals, they are eager to grow further with Visma leading tax and accounting software internationally.

Ari-Pekka Salovaara, Chief Growth Officer at Visma, confirms these acquisitions as part of their continued growth in Germany. He highlights milia.io and Taxy.io as leaders in AI automation for accountants and tax advisors, complementing Visma’s software offerings in the DACH region.

Visma, a key provider of essential business software, reported €2.8 billion in revenue for 2024, with 17,500 employees and 2.1 million customers across Europe and Latin America.
