65-Inch Sony Bravia TV Now $300 Off

If you’re shopping for a high-end TV, the 65-inch Sony Bravia 5 Mini-LED is at its lowest price ever at $1,198, down from $1,499.99 (according to price trackers). Its HDR reaches about 1,000 nits, ensuring sports or action films don’t get washed out during daytime viewing. The Mini-LED backlight, combined with Sony’s XR Backlight Master Drive, enhances contrast and provides deep blacks for an LCD. There might be some blooming around bright spots in very dark scenes, but it’s not a major issue for most.

The Bravia 5 also aligns with modern TV uses. PlayStation 5 owners benefit from automatic setup for seamless, low-lag gaming at 120Hz. Its XR processor enhances older HD shows, smooths motion, and refines the look of casual streaming on a large 65-inch screen.

Built-in audio is another advantage. The Acoustic Multi Audio feature uses the TV’s screen as part of the speaker system, making sound feel correctly placed without needing a soundbar.

However, the Sony may not suit everyone. The LG OLED B4 ($1,296.99) is an option in this range if you prioritize cinema quality. Its self-lit pixels offer perfect blacks without blooming and manage shadow-heavy scenes better than any backlit screen. It uses less processing, appealing to film purists. The downside is it’s not as bright, and sound is less immersive without additional equipment, often necessitating a soundbar.

If your room is bright, you want strong built-in sound, or you’re a PS5 owner seeking a TV that enhances your console experience, the Bravia 5 is appealing, especially at this price. But if you prefer late-night films and shadow-rich dramas, the LG B4 could be a wiser choice.
